Isn't this the cutest idea!

I sew this and decided quickly that I needed to make one for our own place!

I had to decide on white board vs. chalk board, and settled on chalk, because I'm having a love affair with it!

Last summer Dave and I made a whole bunch of chalk boards for presents etc, this is the last one we had left- it's so lucky it's the perfect shape for this project!

I used acrilic paint on top to write the 'I love <3 you because.....'

Ta da!

I wish I had come up with another way to write on the first bit, I'm not a big fan of my own handwriting, but It makes it match with the rest of the note when I use it, I guess.

What do you think?  Now Dave and I can be super mushy even when we don't get to see one another in the
mornings or whatever.

One Year Anniversary

I just wanted to take a minute out of our anniversary to thank my darling Husband for a wonderful year =)

Engagement's All Round!

I have just had news of two of my friend getting engaged!  Which makes 4 couples in the last two months!

I am crazy excited for them all, each couple is amazing, and unique and so strong.  I wish them all the best in the future, and I LOVE weddings, so look forward to my invites ;-)

So, congratualtions guys!  All the best for everything, Love you lots.

A re-blog

I was wandering round the bloggersphere earlier and came across this blog called Handmade by Emily where she talked about some comments made about persevering with craft things on the video there.

I just found this encouraging and nice, because I am under no illusion that my crafting is in anyway perfect just yet, but I will continue with it, and one day I hope to be able to make stunning quilts like the one we were given as a wedding gift, and to design my own dresses, which fit and are details and beautiful.  This might be a way off, but getting there will be worth the effort of now.

Being grown-ups, apart

Quick round up of latest events-

1. Dave has left for the first week of the teacher training course he's on over the summer.
2. I'm still looking for work, with only one company ringing me back so far.
3. Waiting on a housing agency to call us back and say we can move in.
4. Living out of boxes at David's parents house.

And its alright.  Just gotten off the phone with Dave, he has successfully survived the first day at 'teacher camp', met new people and is settling into his room for the next three weeks.  I'm not going to lie, missing him already (awww?).  Mostly, because he's usually my entertainment when we're not working. 

Anyways, we've done the living apart thing before, just not since we got married last September.  We both went travelling on our (separate) gap years, and then worked at a school which he had to do residential camps every now and again, AND he went to Cardiff University for a year while I was stuck in Leicester.  Lets be fair, the hour away he is now is nothing compared to the >4hour train trip I had to do to get to Cardiff, and even less when you think about being 5000miles apart while traveling.

So, these few weeks will be a pain, but I will see him again very soon.  This I am very thankful for.

Dave cooking 'beer but chicken'- Yum

It is Dave's final exam this afternoon, although he is not looking forwards to it (as if anyone ever is!) I know he is going to do brilliantly.  No one I know works as hard as he does, unless he is at the gym or having dinner he has his nose in a book and is scribbling notes.  I'm so proud of him, and I know the hard work is going to pay off when he starts his teacher training and job in September. 

So here is to Dave, best of luck for the exam, God be with you.  I love you, always.
